Speaking of the project schedule, the government’s commissioner stressed that, although the licensing process did not affect the time schedule, further work would require approval of Hungary’s nuclear regulator. Mr. Aszódi emphasized that Hungary was expecting the European Commission to make its final decision on the government support for the project. “A clear time schedule can only be established after this decision is taken”, Aszódi explained. “I cannot tell you how the EC decision will influence the project implementation until we finally get the decision. It may contain requirements that will impact the construction schedule,” he added.
