The road map was signed by Nikolay Spassky, Deputy CEO of Rosatom, and Sinava Souphanouvong, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines, from the Lao side. According to the document the parties agreed to study the possibility of nuclear power projects implementation on the territory of Laos as part of Rosatom Integrated Offer including nuclear infrastructure development, personnel training, supplies of nuclear fuel cycle products and services. The other future cooperation areas of the roadmap include the use of radiation technologies in industrial sector, medicine, agriculture and environment protection. Earlier in April 2016 the Ministry of Energy and Mines and Rosatom signed a memorandum of cooperation in peaceful uses of atomic energy, which stipulated the creation of a joint working group.
