Common Goal
back to contentsImportant equipment was supplied to Russian NPP construction sites in September.
As a matter of fact, almost all of it is coming from Rosatom’s enterprises, since each new station is the big common goal. ZIO-Podolsk Machine-Building Factory (part of Atomenergomash, Rosatom’s machine-building division) continues producing pipelines for steam generators of BN-800, the reactor installment being built in the town of Zarechny, Sverdlov region, for the Beloyarsk NPP unit 4. ZIO-Podolsk has already started the unloading of three sets of vents and drainages of secondary coolant circuit at the NPP site, along with the vents and drainages of feed water pipes and those of live steam pipes, low superheated steam lines and automatic protection systems.
Under ZIO’s trademark
The pipeline elements are mainly produced of highly-alloyed corrosion-resistant non-titanian austenic steel and perlite alloy-treated steel. The equipment specified lifetime is 45 years, assigned recourse – 300 000 hours.
ZIO-Podolsk is a major producer of complex heat-exchange equipment for fuel and energy complex enterprises: atomic and heat power stations, oil and gas industries. 40% of Russia’s, the CIS’ and Baltic installed generating capacity are equipped with its production, including 100% of NPPs, starting from the first NPP in Obninsk.
Artezian supply
Another machine-building enterprise, OKBM Afrikantov, supplied 5 pressure water pumps to unit 1 of the Leningrad NPP-2. The total cost of the equipment amounts to more than RUB 55 million.
Safety class 4 antiseismic pressure water pumps meant to supply salt water to refrigeration condensers and to auxiliary equipment of the turbine island.
The design of the pumps provides their efficient work even when the contents of suspensions in the pumped water are high. Main parts are made of rust-resisting steel, providing maximum resistance to corrosion in salt water.
OKBM Afrikantov is to produce the total of 158 items of pumping equipment of pressure water, semi-submersible and submersible types for the Leningrad NPP-2 and Baltic NPP.
OOG
Rosatom, though, doesn’t see its goal in producing equipment for NPPs under construction. The company aims to provide the plants with the best quality things, and, in case those are produced abroad, it gladly cooperates with the foreign partners. Thus three 6 MW standby diesel generators were shipped to Novovoronezh NPP-2 in Voronezh region this September. The equipment is meant for unit1.
Stationery diesel generators made by the German MTU company serve as safety systems’ reserve power supply and are meant to provide work of the main equipment of the unit in case of scram.
Each diesel generator weighs 67 tons and is shipped in special 9 meters long packing boxes. The equipment arrived to the Novovoronezh NPP-2 on special OOG transport. The assembling is planned to start in 2014, it will be done inside the reserve diesel power plants. This October three more diesel generators are to be supplied to power unit 2.
