  • Bangladesh. Unit 1 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant passed another milestone in the cold and hot functional tests, having completed the blowdown of the direct steam lines in the turbine building. The lines were blown down using direct steam at a pressure of 2.0 MPa and a temperature of 200°C. The procedure aims to clean the steam lines of any residual moisture, industrial contaminants, and mechanical particles. A follow-up blowdown with a larger volume of direct steam will further clean the system and help fine-tune equipment performance under near-operational conditions. These tests are part of a broader commissioning process necessary to ensure the turbine systems operate safely and reliably once the plant is up and running.
