Construction. Rosatom started hydraulic testing of the passive core bay system intended for the Rooppur NPP Unit 2 (Bangladesh). Hydraulic testing is one of the most important final types of equipment control. The pressure in the tank is raised to 4.4 MPa and maintained for at least 10 minutes, and then it is checked for the absence of leaks and residual deformations. For one power unit, eight tanks with a volume of 120 cubic meters each are required. Passive core bay system is designed for the removal of residual heat release of the coolant in the reactor’s primary circuit.
