Polina Lion, Chief Sustainability Officer at Rosatom, spoke about the role of nuclear energy in the green energy transition and presented Rosatom’s solutions. “The energy sector accounts for about 70% of all greenhouse gas emissions, so low-carbon energy solutions play a central role in any national energy transition strategies. There are several criteria that confirm the ‘green’ nature of nuclear energy,” Polina Lion said. She expressed hope that Turkey would include nuclear energy in its sustainable taxonomy being developed in the country.
