Cooperation. In Jakarta, representatives of Russia’s nuclear regulator Rostechnadzor, Indonesia’s Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), Rosatom, and the Indonesian Ministry of Transport discussed the development of the regulatory framework for nuclear projects. Special attention was given to the implementation of Floating Nuclear Power Units (FNPUs) projects, taking into account the specifics of deploying them across Indonesia’s island geography, as well as to the exchange of experience between the relevant agencies of the two countries. “Indonesia is steadily developing its nuclear energy sector, and building a reliable and effective regulatory system is one of the key elements of our work. We are interested in deepening our cooperation with Rostechnadzor, exchanging expertise, and studying international regulatory standards,” said Zainal Arifin, Acting Head of BAPETEN.
