EAEU. Rosatom and its partners from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states discussed the applications and potential of nuclear technologies in industry and science at the fourth Eurasian Economic Forum held in Minsk. Among the topics addressed was the collaboration involving the use of the Multi-Purpose Fast Neutron Research Reactor (MBIR) currently under construction in Russia. “Even though the reactor is still being built, we are establishing an international research platform that will use its capabilities. More than 20 countries and organizations are already involved, and we are in active negotiations with China, Uzbekistan, and Belarus,” said Vasily Konstantinov, director of international research and technology projects at Rosatom. Vadim Titov, CEO of Rosatom International Network, presented Rosatom’s capabilities and expertise that could serve as a foundation for joint initiatives with EAEU countries. He also noted growing interest in small-scale nuclear power plants based on the Russian-designed RITM-200 reactor.
