HR training. Employees of the Rooppur NPP under construction in Bangladesh completed a three-week internship course with Rosatom’s research and development institute located in Troitsk, Russia. Russian experts trained Bangladeshi specialists from the Rooppur NPP Nuclear Safety and Reliability Department on the specifics of VVER reactor fuel operation and the use of advanced calculation tools in solving professional tasks. Among other things, the future nuclear industry workers studied the RTOP-SA computer code used to simulate behavior of depressurized fuel rods and release of fission products into the primary coolant circuit in VVER reactors. Having completed the course, the Bangladeshi trainees passed an exam and received qualification certificates. In Bangladesh, Rosatom is building the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant with two VVER-1200 reactors and also providing comprehensive training programs for the plant’s operating personnel. In total, around 1,500 Bengali employees will take training courses and do an internship at Rosatom’s facilities.
