India. An Olympiad organized by Rosatom brought together 12,000 Indian students and schoolchildren from eight cities in the state of Tamil Nadu. Over 600 students from 81 educational institutions qualified for the finals of the Olympiad. The contestants competed in several disciplines: college students had to complete tasks in math, physics and chemistry while schoolchildren took a general natural science test. It was the first time this year that student teams competed in solving complex engineering problems requiring teamwork and creative thinking. The Olympiad is held for the fourth consecutive year in the region where Rosatom, together with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), is building the Kudankulam NPP with six VVER-1000 reactors.
