Non-energy nuclear. Russia and Nicaragua signed an agreement on cooperation in the non-energy use of nuclear technologies. Russia will assist Nicaragua in the creation and implementation of projects based on nuclear and radiation technologies in agriculture, medicine and scientific research. “Despite the fact that Rosatom has more than 40 intergovernmental agreements with different countries, today’s document can be called unique. This is the first time that we agree with partners on the non-energy use of nuclear technologies beforehand. We are talking about such projects as the Nuclear Medicine Center, a multi-purpose irradiation center and a subcritical stand that can be used for educational and research purposes,” said Alexey Likhachev, head of Rosatom.
