Science. The Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA) and the leader of the MBIR International Research Consortium signed a strategic cooperation agreement on peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The partnership aims to implement joint projects in civil nuclear energy, encompassing scientific research, personnel training, and infrastructure development. “Signing the agreement is an important step for us towards delivering on the Arab Strategy for the Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy. It will, for example, advance our project to establish a regional radioactive waste management system, which is a critically important initiative for environmental safety. Joint research programs involving the MBIR reactor will provide us with new opportunities for developing and producing radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases,” noted AAEA Director General Dr. Salem Hamdi.
