Shipments. Rosatom’s research division shipped the first batch of lutetium-177 isotope to China. Substances containing lutetium-177 are used in the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors and prostate cancer. They are also studied for their efficacy against myeloid disorders, as well as against breast, lung, skin and kidney cancer. Medical isotopes produced by Rosatom enable about 2.5 million diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to be performed in Russia and abroad. Radiopharmaceuticals help diagnose diseases at an early stage and begin treatment without wasting precious time.
