Türkiye. Rosatom acted as a partner for the 12th International Nuclear Power Plants Expo and Summit (NPPES) 2026, held in Istanbul. The forum was attended by over 1,100 delegates and 86 companies from around the world. Anton Dedusenko, Chairman of the Board at Akkuyu Nuclear JSC, announced the completion of construction works at Akkuyu Unit 1 and the beginning of cold hydrostatic tests. “We have focused our efforts on making 2026 the start-up year for Unit 1,” Dedusenko noted. The business program of the forum also addressed the role of nuclear energy in achieving climate goals. Rosatom representatives highlighted the potential of both large nuclear power plants and small modular reactors in generating low-carbon electricity and ensuring a reliable power supply to the industry. At the exhibition, the Russian nuclear corporation showcased its nuclear energy solutions, including closed nuclear fuel cycle technologies and the development of innovative reactors.
