WAW. From September 25 to 28, Moscow hosted the World Atomic Week (WAW) international forum to mark the 80th anniversary of Russia’s nuclear industry. The event was attended by over 20,000 guests from 118 countries. The forum discussions were centered around the development of nuclear technologies over the next 100 years. The business program featured different thematic tracks, including industrial innovations, affordable clean energy, advanced medicine, digitalization, science and education, and others. The forum was addressed by the Presidents of Russia and Belarus, the heads of the IAEA and the World Nuclear Association, together with high-ranking officials and corporate leaders from various countries. At the exhibition, visitors were able to see firsthand the advancements and achievements of Russia’s nuclear industry and its partners. The forum also featured an extensive youth program. Leaders of youth communities from different countries and experts from the global nuclear sector discussed the role of nuclear technologies in the energy transition, the fight against climate change, innovative solutions in nuclear power, and other related topics.
