Rosatom to retrofit Kozloduy
back to contentsThe two companies signed a EUR 24.7m retrofit contract. The equipment modernization at Unit 5 will take 500 days and is expected to be finished by May 2018. This project is part of Bulgaria’s larger program that will require 360 million Euro to replace obsolete generation facilities in an effort to avoid new hikes of electric power prices. The retrofit contract for Kozloduy Unit 5 was awarded to a consortium of Rosenergoatom, Rusatom Service (Rosatom Group companies) and EDF (France). The generator rotor will be sent to Saint Petersburg for the maintenance and repair. The stator will be replaced with a new one to increase the unit capacity from 1,000 to 1,100 MW.
