Artyom Izmestiev, a chief engineer at Rosatom’s Pilot Decommissioning Center for Uranium-Graphite Reactors, said that Rosatom is committed to supporting Germany in nuclear decommissioning. “Since Germany plans to continue its national nuclear power phase-out program in next decades, German nuclear plant operators might need assistance,” said Izmestiev. “They may draw on Russia’s expertise in nuclear decommissioning, spent fuel reprocessing and nuclear safety. Russia can offer Germany an integrated nuclear and radiation safety solution.”
