back to contentsAccording to Sunday report of Rosatom’s Communications Department, Rosatom’s Chief Executive Officer Alexey Likhachev and Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak held talks over the Akkuyu nuclear project. “Rosatom’s CEO Alexey Likhachev has held talks with Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak. The parties discussed current issues related to the construction of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant Akkuyu which will be the world’s first BOO (Build–Own–Operate) project,” Rosatom stated. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Energy Congress in Istanbul. On Monday Rosatom’s CEO will reportedly participate in the forum as a member of the Russian delegation. Alexey Likhachev, the former First Deputy Minister of Economic Development, was appointed Rosatom’s CEO instead of Sergey Kirienko by the President’s decree on Wednesday.
