The list comprises Egyptian power engineering, construction and consulting companies with a track record of delivering public projects.

Winning bids will be selected by an ad hoc commission that will work in close contact with Rosatom. The commission will be also responsible for ensuring transparency of the bidding procedure. It will comprise representatives of the Ministry of Military Production, Ministry of Electricity, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Nuclear Power Plants Authority, and Arab Organization for Industrialization.

An official website in Arabic and English was launched for Egyptian companies to register in the vendor database for the El Dabaa project. The website will also publish announcements of upcoming tenders and their conditions. The vendor database already includes Orascom, Hassan Allam, Elsewedy Electric, Falcon, Petrojet, ABB Transformers, Schneider Electric Egypt, Shaker Consulting Group, Hamza & Partners, and other local companies.

According to the project design, the El Dabaa nuclear plant will have four VVER-1200 reactor units. The first unit is scheduled to go critical in 2026.
