AKME-engineering created for the SVBR-100 project realization has taken out a license for the construction of nuclear power plants in terms of the execution of works and rendering of services as the operating organization for the construction of the NPP. The license was issued by the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision. “The license received enables the company to render nuclear power construction services to operating organizations, – said Vladimir Petrochenko, company’s General Director. – In fact, the document shows the company’s growing competence”. Innovation Project licensing is a task almost as challenging as the NPP design and construction. However by now AKME-Engineering is doing fairly good.

The company has already obtained the status of operating company, had public hearing on the location of a pilot unit with the SVBR-100 reactor in Dimitrovgrad, Ulianovsk region, passed quality management control system. The project was approved by Federal Bio-Medical Agency of Russia and got competency certificate to individual work items, affecting safety of the major objects’ of the pilot unit construction. The enterprise is now listed among the organizations having the right to possess nuclear materials and installations, while the SVBR-100 is now among the Council’s projects for economy modernization and innovative development of Russia.

Plans for the Future
“In future we will have to obtain a license for allocation of the pilot power unit in Dimitrovgrad as well as a certificate of a construction manager for the further construction of the power unit”, – says Vladimir Petrochenko. AKME-Engineering is a joint enterprise of Rosatom and En+ group (leading Russian industrial group, uniting companies working in the sphere of metallurgy, power engineering, ore mining industry and other strategically connected industries). It was established in 2009 for designing and construction of a 100 MW experimental pile assembly based on lead-bismuth fast breeder reactor (SVBR) technology and its future commercialization.

The enterprise now plans to finish R&D for the SVBR design validation and the issue of the pile assembly and main equipment engineering project plan, as well as the design of experimental pilot unit and licensing of its location. The putting into operation of the unit with the SVBR-100 reactor is planned for 2019.
