The agreement will be signed for five years and provide for two extensions for the same period. The countries agree to cooperate in the development, construction, operation and decommissioning of nuclear reactors, fuel cycle management, and radioactive waste management. Mexico and Russia also agreed on the partnership in maintaining radiation safety, staff training, and the use of isotopes in the industry, medicine and agriculture.
