Rosatom is considering taking a stake in the joint venture proposing to build and operate a new nuclear power station at Slovakia’s Bohunice site. The State Corporation signed a memorandum with Javys and CEZ that will give it access to information about the current status of the project.

“This offer is potentially interesting for us both as for an investor and a technology supplier” – said the corporation representative. At the end of 2012 the Czech mass media said that the company was looking through a possibility of selling its shares in JESS, and Rosatom could be among the buyers.

India “laid aboard” the providing of construction site for the new NPP, which is to be built with Russian participation, said Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council of the RF, after a meeting with Indian side in New Deli. He says India has planned some budget financing for the period of 2012-2017. “It was the first time the Indian side said aloud that some money had been spared for the new site construction” – said Partrushev. He also reminded that in 2010 Russia and India signed a “roadmap”, according to which the amount of 14-16 power units is supposed to be constructed.

The new information center of nuclear energy was opened by Rosatom in Mersin, Turkey. This is the second foreign informational project of the Corporation, the first one is already open in Hanoi, Vietnam. Its objective is to inform people about modern nuclear technologies in the easy-to-understand way. The main attendees will be schoolchildren, students, teachers, representatives of public authorities and social agencies, mass media. Russia and Turkey had previously come to agreement on joint construction of the “Akkuyu” NPP in Mersin.

In 2012 Rosatom is planning to increase financing of research and design work (R&D), as said Viacheslav Pershukov, the Deputy General Director of the Corporation. “The R&D budget is about RUB 20 billion, while in 2013 it will be RUB 22-23 billion, the third part being external orders” – said Pershukov. According to the General Director of the Corporation, Sergey Kiriyenko, by 2020 the R&D expenses are planned to be increased more than twice, up to RUB 42.9 billion.

Novovoronezh NPP -2 was granted a certificate of conformance of the plant’s occupational safety and health management system to requirements of the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007. Over the last decade Novovoronezh NPP several times became a laureate of contests for the best labor conditions and protection among enterprises basing in Voronezh Region and the town of Novovoronezh.

Dassault Systemes, the French software company and Nizhny Novgorod Engineering Company (NIAEP) are planning to expand their partnership in 2013, said Laurent Valroff, the company Director General for Russia and CIS, to the Moscow press. Last year, with the help of the Dassault Systemes applications the NIAEP developed its Multi-D technology, a program for building and installation processes modelling. Besides the NIAEP uses the company’s technologies for integrated specialized catalogue of NPP suppliers.
