“The Unit 1 building will reach 44 meters by the year end. The second unit will reach 22 meters,” he explains. Now the internal and external containments at Unit 1 are only 22 meters. The internal containment at Unit 2 is 8 meters high. The work is ongoing to build auxiliary facilities, control and safety rooms at the both units. Construction of the common free-access facilities (a training center and workshops) is also in progress. Since the beginning of the year, 19,100 tons of reinforcement steel and 111,300 cubic meters of concrete have been used for the construction of Belarusian NPP (68,400 tons and 456,300 cubic meters respectively since the project launch).
