The initial session was centered on basic principles of operation and safety assurance at advanced nuclear power plants with VVER-1200 reactors. The training course covers a wide range of engineering subjects, from the basics of applied nuclear physics and VVER reactor design to the specifics of Hanhikivi-1 project. The first session is meant as an introduction to the VVER technology. The next staff training session is scheduled for 2017. Fennovoima employees will focus on individual systems of the yet-to-be-built Hanhikivi-1.
