Energomashspetstal (EMSS, Ukrainian enterprise of Rosatom’s machine-building division) shipped the first work pieces for the Belarus NPP reactor vessel, thus beginning the process of reactor building of the first NPP in Belarus. “Though we still have a lot of work ahead (the start-up of the first reactor is scheduled for 2018), today, thanks to EMSS we can appreciate the scale of this historic project. I was truly amazed by the EMSS production capacities. Inspection was organized at the highest level, NPP work pieces meet all parameters”, – said Sergey Gorin, Deputy head of reactor section of “Nuclear Plant Construction Directory”. The shipment of two more work pieces is planned for the first decade of December: a work piece of pipe zone shell weighing 66 tons and flange work piece weighing 72,6 tons. In total, 12 work pieces will be produced at the EMSS plant for the Belarus NPP. The full cycle of their production is planned to be finished in the first quarter of 2014.

Within the bounds of the agreement concerning construction of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey, Turkish specialists from TAEK (Turkish Atomic Energy Authority) headed by Qadir Oguzhan Alifendioglu visited OKB Gydropress. The guests got acquainted with construction work and experimental and production potential of the enterprise, the designer of the station project. Gydropress presented basic projects of the VVER reactor system, spoke of its security. “Today the enterprise uses the 3D program pack, creating structure of products and reactor system on the whole, looking through product’s geometry, support all the history of the items designed”, – said Maxim Lukanin, the head of construction department.

RosRAO (organization, specializing in RAW handling) signed an international contract with the Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri for detailed engineering and building of a pontoon to ship nuclear submarine reactor compartments. By the open tender the contract was awarded to the Italian company, which has an extensive international experience in building special-purpose vessels. The pontoon is intended for lifting three-compartment units on the slipway at Saida Bay branch of the North-West Center for Radioactive Waste Management SevRAO, a branch of RosRAO in Murmansk Region. The work scope includes developing design documentation, manufacture of the pontoon, its launching, outfitting, testing and towing. The contracted work is planned to be accomplished in 2015.

A meeting between Deputy General Director for International Affais of Rosatom, N. Spassky and Minister of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services of Argentina, architect Julio De Vido, took place in Moscow. The meeting was also attended by the Argentine Ambassador in Russia, Juan Kreckler and the Director of Latin American Department of MFA of the RF, A. Shetinin. Several practical issues, connected with realization of national program of nuclear energy development in Argentina, were discussed.
