Financial Outcome
back to contentsAccording to the Corporation Director General, last year’s final figure was $74 billion. “5 billion dollar contracts were made this year, so the stock of orders increases because we fulfilled the contracts and got the money. We would have had $69 billion remained for this year. We had a super challenging task to reach the number of $98 billion, but this was before the sanctions and all restrictions. After the sanctions began, very few people actually believed this task to be accomplishable. We not only fulfilled the task, but overfulfilled it. Today we have $100,3 billion of stock of orders signed”, – said Mr Kiriyenko.
The head of Rosatom noted changes in the NPP location geography. Before the main scope of units’ construction used to be concentrated in well-developed countries, such as the USA and Europe, where Germany, Italy and France were going to develop their program; now the accent is changed for developing economies.
The biggest demand for NPP now exists in South-East Asia, China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, countries of South Africa. “Recently we have signed an agreement with Algeria, we are currently conducting negotiations with Egypt, Jordan, Emirates, Saudi Arabia”, – Mr Kiriyenko notes. According to him, the countries of Latin America, such as Brazil and Argentina, are also quite active. “We have also started considering nuclear power program with Peru”
In November ROSATOM and Iran signed a protocol to an intergovernmental agreement concerning construction of 8 power units along with the contract for the second phase of Bushehr, which suggests building 2 power units with further possible expansion to 4. In the end of September the State Corporation made a preinvestment contract for 2 units NPP in Jordan.
For the end of the first half of 2014 Rosatom had the right-standing documents signed for 21 units in the countries of Europe and Asia-Pacific region. Among those are: one power unit in Armenia (Metsamor NPP), Finland (Hanhikivi NPP), two power units in Vietnam (Ninh Thuan NPP), China (Tianwan NPP), Bangladesh (Ruppur NPP), Hungary (Paks NPP), Belarus (Ostrovetskaya NPP) and Ukraine (Khmelnitskiy NPP), three power units of the Kudankulam NPP in India and 4 units of Akkuyu in Turkey.
