back to contents

They have learnt the ways Finland develop its nuclear power industry and its nuclear technologies, seen the exposition at the information center at Olkiluoto , and visited the underground repository of low- and intermediate-level radioactive wastes. It is expected that there will be an underground research laboratory in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for evaluating the possibilities to hold the radioactive wastes in the gneissic mass rock at a depth of 500-550 m. The experts from Russia and Finland have discussed the conceptual approaches and technologies for final radioactive waste disposal.
